TifEagle Bermudagrass coming to West Course at TPC Kuala Lumpur this November
The West Course at TPC Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia is to undergo a series of renovations.
The course is the current host of the PGA Tour’s CIMB Classic, and the renovations are therefore being jointly overseen by the PGA Tour and golf course architect Ted Parslow of Parslow & Winter Golf Design.
The West Course has hosted seven Malaysian Opens and five CIMB Classics since it was last closed for refurbishments nearly a decade ago.
“Since the West Course will be closed, we will fully use this opportunity to resurface the grass on all West Course greens with TifEagle bermudagrass,” said Steven Thielke, chief executive officer at TPC Kuala Lumpur.
Selected greens will also be reworked so the contour is appropriate for the higher green speeds achieved with the Tifeagle surfaces.
